Qashgai bagface
One of a pair, this late 19th century bag face has a design seen in Kurdish and Quashgai weavings. It has been woven like a chuval, down the wide side. The wool is high quality, the colours natural. Some old repairs. A decorative flatweave strip typical of Afshar and Baluch weaving has been added to one edge. Cf. “Woven Gardens” D.Black Pl.30
